Former Chiefs duo spotted at VFA

GladAfrica Championship

Venda Football Academy are assessing two former Kaizer Chiefs players as they prepare for their new challenge in the GladAfrica Championship.

VFA have acquired the status of Cape Umoya United and have already started with plans to strengthen their squad for the new season.

Ex-Chiefs duo Ennocent Mkhabela and Sibusiso Khumalo are training with the club as they look to revive their careers.

Full-back Khumalo spent last season at Black Leopards but left when the club got relegated from the DStv Premiership to the Championship.

Mkhabela, who was last on the books of Highlands Park until January 2019, spent last season without a club.

It is not clear yet if the two players have already signed for VFA as the club's general manager did not answer his phone when this publication contacted him.

Tebogo Moearane (Real Kings FC), Thabo Motlafe (Highlands Park), Tumi Ngwepe (Jomo Cosmos), Sydney Mtsweni (SuperSport United), John Munganga (Black Leopards), Eden Nene (Polokwane City), Roggert Nyundu (Gomora) and Vincent Sithole (Pretoria Callies) are all currently training with the Limpopo side.
