KickOff.com can confirm that former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker Collins Mbesuma has joined a new PSL club.

The former Zambian National Team striker has joined Pretoria Callies as a free agent after parting ways with the University of Pretoria at the end of the 2020/21 season.

'Ntofontofo' has already joined the Romans in their pre-season training camp in Limpopo, along with another former Chiefs striker Edward Manqele.

Callies spokesperson Doctor Mphalla has confirmed that the club has indeed captured the signature of the burly 37-year-old.

"Yes, it's true. We have signed him [Mbesuma]. I still have to consult with the chairman with regards to the details of his contract before I can share more," Mphalla tells KickOff.com

Meanwhile, former Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United striker Thabiso Nkoane has been released to make way for the new signing.

Mbesuma remains the record goalscorer in a PSL season, having netted 25 league goals and 35 in all competitions during the 2004/05 campaign with Amakhosi.
