Having roped in Dylan Deane as head coach and Calvin Marlin helping out as a goalkeeper coach, owner Lunga Ncwana has invested heavily into a formidable squad capable of challenging for league honours.
Former Ajax Cape Town duo Toriq 'Tokkie' Losper and Ndiviwe 'Diva' Mdabuka are some of the high-profile names along with former Bafana Bafana left-back Siyabonga Zulu.
Jarrod Moroole, who won the second-tier title with Stellenbosch FC in the 2018/19 season will captain the side this season who will be aiming to be the surprise package after their sudden return to professional football in South Africa.
Losper, who was a free agent for one season has relished the opportunity to revive his career back in Cape Town after the 2015/16 MTN8 winner had ill-fated stints with Bidvest Wits, Baroka and Cape Umoya since leaving the now-defunct Ajax.
"I was out for a year, it's nice to be back, I know Cape Town well because I'm from here. I'm with a coach that knows me very well and my strengths," the 28-year-old tells KickOff.com.
"My personal goal is to get 12 goals and a few assists and as a team we want to win the GladAfrica Championship, looking forward my aim to get back in the PSL and maybe Europe."
Meanwhile, Maroole admits the drop to the second-tier will need adjusting but a challenge he too is looking forward to ahead of the new season that kicks off on Friday.
"Coming from the PSL to the GladAfrica, it's going to be difficult coming from that level but you have to keep your mind positive going forward. You know this is not a new team, just a revived team," the experienced midfielder explains.
"Taking the team forward is a nice challenge, I know I just need to keep doing what I've been doing over my career. With coach [Dylan], he's good, he likes playing from the back and motivating his players, working with him will be great."
The club founded in 2010 last featured in the NFD during the 2017/18 season where they finished in seventh place under Boebie Solomons before Tim Sukazi's purchase to form Galaxy.
