Swallows FC coach Brandon Truter says it would be unthinkable to go into next season without Lebohang Mokoena, and he will not allow him to retire.
The 33-year-old has played a total of 24 games in all competitions for the Dube Birds and is said to be considering quitting playing football.
"No, no, I can't allow that. That's one thing you can put in," Truter tells KickOff.com.
"I can't allow Mokoena to retire, he's too valuable. He brings a lot of experience on the field and off the field. He even looks five years younger. He's got an extra yard also, he's quick.
"Yes, at the beginning of the season before I came here he had difficult times under the previous coaches, and then he said he was going to retire.
"But for now I think he's enjoying his football. I don't think there's any need to consider retiring. And like I said, I think now he's in good shape.
"Ja, I will try to keep him on board. I will try to convince him and do my best to convince him for at least for another season.
"Look, from where I'm sitting now it would be a perfect opportunity to get that out of the way. There is a list that was forwarded to management about who to retain next season. But now it's up to management."
