Leopards set sights on Nedbank winner

GladAfrica Championship

Black Leopards are understood to be lining up a bid for a Nedbank Cup-winning coach as they try to prepare for a swift return to the DStv Premiership.

Leopards were relegated from the top flight to the GladAfrica Championship last season after finishing in 16th position on the log table.

According to insiders at the club, management is trying to lure former coach Dylan Kerr back to the club as they look to make a quick come-back.

Kerr has twice led Lidoda Duvha in the past and is currently without a job after rejecting a contract renewal offer from Marumo Gallants, who he led to the Nedbank Cup title and subsequent qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup last season.

"The club has made contact with Kerr, they want him to help them start afresh next season," A source tells KickOff.com.

"They are prepared to work things out with him, but now the problem is Kerr has built himself a good profile in South African football as a coach.

"His record speaks for itself. Just recently he helped TTM win the Nedbank Cup trophy, so chances of him going to the NFD are very slim."

Neither Leopards nor Kerr could be reached for comment.
