GladAfrica Championship

Former Orlando Pirates captain Benson Mhlongo has been appointed as the new head coach of GladAfrica Championship side TS Sporting.

Mhlongo, who previously enjoyed a brief stint as Sporting coach during the 2018/19 season, has returned to the club after being appointed as the new Head Coach until the end of the season.

"TS Sporting Club is proud to announce with immediate the effect the return of Benson Mlongo as Head Coach," the club said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The 41-year-old former Back Leopards assistant coach had established his coaching in the ABC [Motsepe League], NFD [National First Division] and PSL and is no stranger to TS Sporting.

"His knowledge and experience will add value to the TS Sporting Technical team [and] Mr. Mhlongo will be assisted by Tendai Tanyanyiwa and Percyvell Nkabinde.

"We would like to take this opportunity to wish him well in his duties until the end of the 2021/22 season."

Mhlongo most recently served as the assistant coach at Black Leopards and previously also held the role at Orlando Pirates during the earlier stages of his coaching career.
