Another ex-Pirates veteran on his way out at Stellies

KickOff.com has established that Stellenbosch’s mass exodus of senior players will also swallow the services of yet another veteran who has previously been with Orlando Pirates.

Following their best-ever season in topflight football, Stellenbosch will be without Nathan Sinkala, Sibusiso Mthethwa, Granwald Scott, Robyn Johannes, Waseem Isaacs and Stanley Dimgba while Zitha Kwinika is heading to Kaizer Chiefs.

The club also lost the services of Allan ‘JJ’ Robertson earlier in the year while Tanzanian Allan Msengi went to Cape Town Spurs but couldn’t play due to paperwork issues.

Word reaching this website is that Marc Van Heerden is also on his way out after three years with the club.

The option on the 34-year-old left-back’s contract will not be exercised.

This is despite the fact that he featured in over half of the club’s games this past season.

Van Heerden has also played for AmaZulu, Chippa United and Pirates in previous years.

This website has also gathered that Juan Carlos Ortiz Hernandez will be undergoing surgery on his ACL.

The Venezuelan is only expected back in action next year.

He joined at the beginning of the year and featured in 11 games scoring twice and providing one assist.

Meanwhile, the club will be welcoming back goalkeeper Keegan Pool next season following his return from a medical treatment break.
