Wits are set to lose their number-one goalkeeper at the end of the season, with Keet having refused to sign a contract extension beyond the final six months thereof.
The 29-year-old joined The Clever Boys two-and-a-half years ago in a surprise return home from Belgium Pro League outfit KV Kortrijk.
Suggestions are that the Bafana Bafana shotstopper is keen on a return to Europe, but reports have also linked him to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
Quizzed over the Wits academy graduate’s future at the club, Hunt insisted that he has not tried to convince Keet to stay but further fuelled speculation that he could be on his way to Naturena, to compete with national team teammate Itumeleng Khune.
“No, I haven’t [spoken to Keet]. Maybe Kaizer Chiefs [have] – I heard they want to sign him, so we’ll see,” said Hunt.
With Wits having already announced three signings, albeit on pre-contracts for next season, the four-time league-winning tactician ruled out any more activity or landing the new signings in the January window.
“No, that’s all coming later. We have to try and work with what we’ve got and go again [after the Chiefs defeat] and try and get another 32-33 points, if we can,” he added.
“We don’t have any more money to sign, I’ll have to sell first before we do anything there, so we’ll do that if we have to. But right now, no, there’s nothing. We’ll just keep going.”
