Lechesa gets top FSS award

Lechesa walked away with a cheque of R80 000 for the accolade.   Lechesa made 25 starts in the League last season – falling second to Zambian goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene who made 28 appearances out of the 30 games that were played.   The 34-year-old will be venturing into coaching and has been appointed head coach at First Division side Carara Kicks, Ea Lla Koto's sister club.   Zimbabwean striker Kingstone Nkatha picked up the R50 000 Top Goal Scorer award for the 9 goals that he netted last season in all competitions.      Midfielder Paulus Masehe was voted the Players' Player of the Season walking away with R30 000, while Rookie of the Season Ayanda Gcaba went away with the same amount.   Sipho Nkosi was handed the Good Spirited Player of the Season award, while Kleinbooi Taaibos was named the Most Disciplined Player with Mweene taking home the Most Consistent Player award. All three of them received R20 000 each.   Stars are currently in camp in Potchefstroom.
