A foreign PSL legend believes Morocco should not be made the villains following their decision to block Kaizer Chiefs from entering the country.
Chiefs' debut in the CAF Champions League group state has been put into limbo after the Royal Moroccan Football Federation asked for a postponement of their clash against Wydad Casablanca.
The reason given was the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic following a new strain of the virus that has emerged in South Africa.
Amakhosi were set to travel on Wednesday but the RMMF released a statement confirming that Chiefs will not be allowed into the country.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Cameroon midfielder Roger Feutmba feels as much as it was very short notice, one can't really fault them because of the danger of the pandemic.
"I feel they could've done better tp inform CAF and Chiefs earlier because they knew about this pandemic a long time ago, it's not like it's a new thing," Feutmba tells KickOff.com.
"We can't really fault them because they are probably thinking about the safety of their people. It's a pity that we are facing this pandemic and everyone is trying to protect themselves"
With Morocco requesting a postponement and for the match to be played in a neutral venue, Feutmba feels it will be very tricky for CAF to come up with a suitable solution that will benefit both parties.
"It's a very tricky situation," Feutmba admits. "If their reason is only the pandemic then CAF must find a good solution that will be fair to both parties.
"Remember this pandemic has forced us to make drastic changes because it affects our lives, so it will be up to CAF to do something and let's just hope it will be fair to Chiefs and Wydad."
