Chiefs not without Baxter for Wydad

CAF Champions League

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Arthur Zwane has admitted Stuart Baxter has influenced their preparations for the CAF Champions League semi-final against Wydad Athletic Club.

Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will take charge of their first leg tie in Casablanca on Saturday evening with Baxter yet to receive his work permit to be seated in the technical area for the club.

While the club confirmed that Baxter was part of the travelling squad, Zwane further confirmed he gave his input to the technical team without tinkering too much of the current tactical system.

"The preparations are still the same, nothing much has changed, simply because we didn't have much time on our side, coach Stuart has given his input like any other technical member of the team," he said in the pre-match press conference.

"We're looking forward to the game. I think the past counts for nothing because it's going to be a different ball game altogether.

"We know we're playing against a good team - one of the best on the continent, we know what to expect and we always give our best to get the desired result."

Zwane and Sheppard led Chiefs to two wins from their only two games in charge since holding the reigns at Amakhosi following Gavin Hunt's sacking last month.
