Hunt gives indication of Chiefs' approach

CAF Champions League

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has given an indication of their approach to the CAF Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Simba on Saturday.

Chiefs hold a handsome 4-0 aggregate lead from their first leg played a week ago at FNB Stadium, and now need only to avoid a defeat by a larger margin.

The fixture at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium tomorrow afternoon is expected to bring a totally different challenge from the hosts, who will have 10 000 strong behind them in the stands.

While the lead may be sizeable, Hunt has assured that he is under no illusions of what could happen during the 90-plus minutes and revealed that they will approach the match as if the scoreline was 0-0.

"The preparations haven't been any different, we obviously prepared for the game and we look at the start of another game," Hunt said in his pre-match briefing in Dar es Salaam.

"We can't concern ourselves right now [with the 4-0 lead], we need to start the game properly and be prepared, and hopefully we can take it from there.

"I think it will obviously be much tougher, because they're at home and the conditions favour them, but I don't think we can think about that [first leg].

"We've just, as I said, got to start off on a clean slate, nil-nil and then just play from there. I'm under no illusions, I've been doing this and I understand what the game will bring.

"I know it's certainly going to be much harder than the first leg, there's no doubt about it."
