Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant and renowned development coach Farouk Khan advises the CAF Champions League quarter-finalists to buy wisely for next season.
Up until recently Amakhosi were expected to overhaul their current squad, but recent results in the Champions League have surely brought a huge headache to both the club management and head coach Gavin Hunt.
With some optimism now emerging, there could be doubt on whether they should give the current group of players a second chance next season.
"I think I've been saying it all along that those players are not as bad as people are making them out to be," Khan tells KickOff.com.
"I think due to the fact that results were not forthcoming, all the blame was laid upon the players being responsible, and yet we forget it's the same players that took this team to about 20 minutes of winning the title.
"Yes, teams do sign players, but to have a complete overhaul, it will be positive yes because it will bring new life but it could also be a place where you are faced with the unknowns. Sometimes a player is brilliant at a smaller club, only to find when he gets to a club of a stature of Chiefs he's unable to deliver.
"Ultimately it will go down on what the team has won because they haven't won anything in a long time. After all the negativity that has surrounded the team, I think we should give credit to the fact that... it's not easy to reach a quarter-final of a major tournament like this.
"The players, they would be first choice in many teams in the PSL. If you let Khune go, I think there'll be 10 teams waiting to sign him."
