A tearful Andisiwe Mgcoyi gave an emotional post-match speech after being named as the Star of the Night as the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team lifted the CAF Women's Champions League.
Goals by Chuene Morifi and Mgcoyi ensured a 2-0 victory over Ghana's Hasaacas Ladies as the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Team lifted the continental competition at 30 June Stadium on Friday evening.
The win also sees the Masandawana ladies team set a number of records as they joined their male counterparts in becoming champions of Africa.
In an emotional post-match interview, Mgcoyi broke down in tears as she praised the team's effort in their historic achievement.
"Firstly I'd like to thank God for the strength he gave me," Mgcoyi said.
"Thinking of myself as a striker since the beginning of the tournament, I hadn't scored a goal.
"So now I believe that when they say it's not how you start but how you finish, thank you.
"I'm just so emotional, I'm so emotional because this is what we wanted," Mgcoyi added before breaking down in tears.
"Thank you so much!"
