Kgatlana, who was named the Most Valuable Player at the Cyprus Cup in March, scored two goals and had three assists in 16 appearances for Houston.
She settled in well in her first season in the US and was nominated for the 2018 Unsung Hero award.
She and midfielder Linda Motlhalo did well enough to earn contract extensions.
The enterprising midfielder will also play for Banyana at the 2018 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana next month.
Kgatlana is one of six players that will join another team on loan this off-season. Amber Brooks, Sofia Huerta, Veronica Latsko, Clare Polkinghorne and Kyah Simon are currently on loan in Australia for the 2018/2019 Westfield W-League season, a league which Banyana vice-captain Refiloe Jane plays in.
