Wonder-goal for Rantie in Sweden

Rantie tops his club’s scorers list with six goals.

With the win Malmo overtook Elfsborg on the table, moving to third, two points behind log leaders IFK Goteborg.

Jiloan Hamad had opened the scoring for Malmo on 24 minutes, with a well taken shot at the near post, but Mohamed Bangura equalised for the visitors just after half-time.

With Elfsborg taking control of the match, and heading towards their first points in Malmo in five years, Rantie produced a game-changing goal 13 minutes from time, sprinting from his own half past three Elfsborg players before beating goalkeeper Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard and rolling the ball into the net.

“It was not my best goals I've done, but one of the better,” Rantie said after the match.

The Swedish press is full of praise for the Bafana Bafana striker this morning, calling his striker “unreal”, however, his finishing has come into question, with his coach insisting he could have converted more chances into goals.

“Yes, yes. I've noticed it,” Rantie said of his missed chances. “But I'm a man, I make mistakes.

“I'm glad people are noticing and many have pointed out that for me. It's something I can use to improve my game. I'm getting there, slowly but surely.”
