Bafana Bafana playmaker Sibusiso Vilakazi has opened up about Namibia head coach Ricardo Manetti's warning ahead of their crucial Group D AFCON 2019 encounter tonight.
Vilakazi, 29, was afforded the final 15 minutes in their tournament opener against the Ivory Coast, which has increased the pressure on South Africa to gain a positive result this evening.
However, he states the mentality of the squad is unchanged despite the early setback that's been greeted by waves of negativity from supporters back home.
Namibia head coach Ricardo Mannetti has since sent a warning ahead of the Southern African derby, telling Stuart Baxter’s charges to expect an open attacking style of play.
But Vila' played down the notion, claiming they will be adequately equipped for whatever is thrown at them by the Brave Warriors.
"Sometimes you plan according to what you see and sometimes you get something different,” said the Mamelodi Sundowns attacker.
"So, we just have to expect what we are prepared for and try and find solutions to overcome what's coming up against us within the game.
"We have to create as many chances as we can and be a threat to them. The more you create the more likely you are to score.
“Against Ivory Coast we didn't do much and, with the quality we have in attack, that needs to change to give ourselves a better chance [of progressing to the knockout stage]."
