Interim coach Fadlu Davids has clarified the current managerial situation at Orlando Pirates as a permanent head coach is yet to be named since the resignation of German Josef Zinnbauer.
The Buccaneers currently occupy fifth position in the DStv Premiership standings after suffering their first loss of the season to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
Davids, alongside Mandla Ncikazi, are at the helm on an interim basis since Zinnbauer's resignation more than a month ago in August.
With the Buccaneers hierarchy yet to name a permanent replacement for the German, Davids has clarified the current dynamic of the new-look technical team.
"Coach Mandla and I run all aspects of the football side, that's making decisions together," Davids said.
"Both of us are in charge of training, in charge of decision-making, in charge of the line-ups, in charge of substitutes and all football-related issues.
"That's a clear understanding of how we are working and taking charge of all technicalities.
"Orlando Pirates is a team that wants to win every game, we want to be up there which is why this [defeat to Sundowns] is really disappointing to go above Sundowns with a win today.
"Unfortunately we could not get the win, but our objectives are clear. We'll take it game-by-game at this moment in time.
"While always wanting to win the next game, which is always the most important game."
Davids added that despite the agonising defeat to Sundowns he remains optimistic on his side's objectives this season.
"We have one game now before the FIFA break, against Cape Town City, although it's away from home we want to collect maximum points in that game.
"Our objectives remain the same with our targets identified at the beginning of the season internally on what we want to achieve step-by-step in terms of the process as we spoke about the previous coach left.
"It's a process now taking the team forward, building our play with the ball and without the ball and putting those steps and processes in and although we take the defeat very badly, it's a huge lesson for our players to learn today.
"That will take us huge steps moving forward instead of backwards, the defeat is a bitter pill to swallow but a huge step in terms of the process in what we want to achieve going forward.
