Pitso: The team is settled now

Telkom Knockout

The Brazilians are fifth on the Absa Premiership log standings and going into their Telkom Knockout Last 16 clash against University of Pretoria on Saturday, Mosimane said he finally has a settled team.

“We are a little bit settled now. Why I say that, because I was able to put three games the same starting lineup and we have found our rhythm a little bit,” Mosimane says.

“The competition falls at the right time where teams are starting to find starting lineups, so it is good, unlike the MTN8 where I think it is a pre-season tournament. But that's not an excuse, I wanted to win that tournament.”

Having won the League last season, Mosimane says they are now eager to win the knockout competition as his side has failed to win it since 2008.

“This cup, we didn't do very well last year, but it is a different game this time. We would like to win the cup, so is AmaTuks. But unfortunately we have to play for it and earn it,” he adds.

“So it's a cup game, it's always a difficult game. We know it's going to be a tough game against AmaTuks.”

'Jingles' said he feels that AmaTuks will pose a serious threat for his side as matches between these two have always been close.

“Tuks are posing a serious challenge to us and we will try as much as we can to win the game. They are a tough team, we respect them and the results have been good for us against them and I hope we keep consistency.

“They are very difficult to play against. They are the fittest team in the PSL, they don't give out goals easily and I think last time we beat them 1-0 at home and it was very close.

“I see the same thing. But they applied different tactics when they played against us at Loftus, and we will see.”
