Baxter: No game is easy

Telkom Knockout

Amakhosi have faced Dikwena already three times in both Cup and a League encounter this season, winning all three of those fixtures, yet the Chiefs boss says his side are weary of their counterparts as they try lift themselves following their first dropped points against Moroka Swallows on Wednesday night.

“Every game is different,” Baxter told his club’s official website. “This is a Cup game and, of course, we want to go to the next phase.

“We didn’t play well against Moroka Swallows. Our players will therefore be fired up for the Stars clash to make up for the two points lost on Wednesday night.”

Chiefs have scored seven and conceded none in their three meetings with Stars already this season, but Baxter is not reading anything into their previous encounters.

“That was in the past,” he said. “No game is easy. Platinum Stars are a difficult opponent.”

Baxter then revealed his aim for his side ahead of their quarter-final clash.

“Chiefs is a club with ambitions, so you want to win all the trophies available,” he stated.

The Glamour Boys will host Platinum Stars at the FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
