Update on Galaxy keeper after hijacking

TS Galaxy goalkeeper, Melusi Buthelezi is back home after being discharged from the hospital.

Buthelezi was admitted to the hospital after being stabbed during a hijacking accident in Soweto on Saturday. The Rockets goalkeeper was traveling with his brother when he was cornered by car hijackers at a petrol filling station in Soweto.

The pair were visiting their ailing mother when met the accident.

“Buthelezi and his brother were returning from visiting their ailing mother when they were cornered by car hijackers at a petrol filling station in Soweto. They both suffered stab wounds and were admitted to the hospital. Buthelezi is in a stable condition even though his brother is said to be critical,” read part of the statement issued by TS Galaxy at the time.

However, Galaxy spokesperson, Minenhle Mkhize has since confirmed that Buthelezi has been discharged from the hospital.

"He has been discharged. He is recovering at home,” Mkhize tells Kickoff.com.

TS Galaxy are set to host Mamelodi Sundowns in their next DStv premiership league match at the Mbombela stadium on Wednesday.
