Two South African players have been confirmed as having been retained by their clubs for the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Over the weekend, clubs from across England published the list of names of the players who have been retained from the 2021/22 Premier League season ahead of the new campaign.
Among them, two players who are eligible to represent South Africa have been kept on in the form of Southampton's Kgaogelo Chauke and Leicester City's Khanya Leshabela.
Leshabela (22) made his Premier League debut for Leicester in March last year before spending the first half of the recently-concluded season on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town.
Meanwhile, South African-born England youth international Kgaogelo Chauke will also be vying for a spot in the league with Southampton next season.
The 19-year-old made his professional debut back in January last year but is yet to feature for the Saints' first team in the league.
His contract was set to expire at the end of the season but it is understood that he has agreed to a two-year extension with the Hampshire-based side.
Elsewhere, 21-year-old defender Bradley Cross, who was formerly on the books of Bidvest Wits and German side Schalke 04, has been released by Newcastle United.
