The 27-year-old attacker, who was signed by Roger de Sa in April last year, was plagued by injuries whilst with the Urban Warriors and could only manage a hand full of games for the club.
Ajax CEO Ari Efstathiou confirmed late last year that the club had reached a mutual agreement with the Kenyan-born player to seek greener pastures.
It’s understood that Abondo has subsequently struck a deal with Celtic, and will feature for the Free State-based outfit in the upcoming 2017/18 season.
