Hlongwa captained Kings to a fourth-place finish on loan in the National First Division, only missing one of their 30 league games.
Dladla hopes Bucs resist recalling Hlongwa as he fears the 21-year-old will be reduced to playing in the developmental MultiChoice Diski Challenge should he return to star-studded Mayfair.
"I think the MDC, with all due respect, for me I refer to it as creche. I apologise for that but that's how I look at it," Dladla tells KickOff.com.
"I don't see myself there. I like the competition. A player like Brian mustn't go back, he's now ready for the big time."
Dladla continues: "He was on loan for one season and Pirates has been on my case; they want him back, they want the report. He played full games, I think it is like 3000 minutes and they are very keen to have him back.
"But I must say I had a chat with him and he still wants to grow. He still wants to be here. He feels like I come across as someone that will make him ready for bigger things. He feels now he's not ready and he needs another season with me.
"But we'll wait and see what Pirates decide to do come pre-season. But I'd love to keep him; he's young, he's talented, he's got all the attributes to be a great defender."
