Ayanda Gcaba is set to join Dikwena until the end of the season, shortly after the Buccaneers beat them 2-0 in an Absa Premiership encounter on Saturday.
"Orlando Pirates Football Club has reached an agreement with Platinum Stars over the services of defender Ayanda Gcaba," read a statement on the club's website on Monday.
The 31-year-old utility back will reunite with former coach Roger de Sa, after falling out of favour at the Mayfair-based outfit since Micho Sredojevic's arrival.
Gcaba, who joined the Buccaneers from Free State Stars in 2012, did not make an appearance in the Pirates first team, but featured in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.
Dikwena will be hoping that he brings stability to a defence that has conceded 24 goals this season, but his match fitness could be a concern for De Sa. With a few months left in the season, they will need him to settle in as soon as possible.
The Buccaneers, meanwhile, earlier on Monday announced the signing of midfielder Xola Mlambo from Bidvest Wits. The Buccaneers are expected to make more signings before the window closes on Wednesday.
