Mystery still surrounds Mahachi

Transfer News

Mahachi spent the past season at Golden Arrows after linking up with them outside the transfer window following a reported PSL DRC meeting.

Sundowns have now indicated that they have re-acquired the exciting midfielder from Arrows in yet another confusing twist though the 22-year-old appears to not be in Pitso Mosimane’s immediate plans having brought back Percy Tau as back-up for Keagan Dolly.

Mahachi is not training with the Sundowns first team and is awaiting a meeting that will give conclusive details about his future which might be decided over the weekend.

Bloemfontein Celtic have shown interest and want him as part of a swap deal along with Fiston Abdul Razak and Bonginkosi Ntuli that will involve Thapelo Morena going in the opposite direction.

Morena – who is in Brazil for the Olympics – has already made it known that he feels he needs to leave and has disputed talk that he has signed a new contract as claimed by a Celtic official.

Golden Arrows are also keen on bringing Mahachi back while Kaizer Chiefs are still monitoring the situation though The Brazilians will definitely not want to loan him to an arch-rival.

Mahachi has in the meantime apparently made it known that he wants to continue playing football in the same way that he did last season at Arrows.

Though the departure of Botswana international Mogakolodi Ngele and Zimbabwean striker Cuthbert Malajila has opened up the door for The Brazilians to register Mahachi as one of five foreign players, he appears to not be a priority at Chloorkop.

With Ngele and Malajila having left, two foreign spots have opened up which would allow for Mahachi to be accommodated this season following his return to the club.

Sundowns have so far registered Bangaly Soumahoro from Ivory Coast and Colombian forward Leonardo Castro and will also be adding new Brazilian signing Ricardo dos Santos Nascimento when his work permit is issued.
