Sanoka, who joined the club from Orbit College in 2015/16, has penned a new three-year contract. His previous deal was expiring at the end of June.
"Pogiso Sanoka has extended his contract. The club has given him a new three-year deal," Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia confirms to KickOff.com.
The 26-year-old made 35 appearances in all competitions in 2017/18, contributing three goals.
His ability to play across the back four was an asset for the Team of Choice, who recorded a best-ever fourth-place finish in the league and reached a maiden Nedbank Cup final where they lost to Free State Stars.
Maritzburg also recently extended the stay of Belgian striker Andrea Fileccia and recruited young defender Denwin Farmer, while they are said to be interested in SuperSport United attacker Fagrie Lakay, as well as Mamelodi Sundowns forward Bongi Ntuli.
Coach Fadlu Davids, however, can no longer call on departed centre-back Bevan Fransman.
