The Sundowns management has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to get a deal for Brockie to be done before the deadline to register players for the Champions League closes at the end of business today.
Brockie was linked with a move to the former African champions in the last transfer window, but SuperSport were unwilling to let the player go even though Sundowns were prepared to pay big bucks for the New Zealand-born striker.
Matsatsantsa, however, are now willing to let the player go and gave Sundowns permission to negotiate terms of a contract last week.
Insiders are confident that a deal will be done today and a press conference to unveil Brockie will be held on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has long been an admirer of Brockie and will be delighted once the player signs on the dotted line. Mosimane needs a proven goal scorer and Brockie has shown that he is deadly in the final third of the pitch.
"It should be done soon, before the deadline," said a source, who is close to proceedings.
Sundowns also expect Platinum Stars left-back Siyabonga Zulu to join them this week, while youngster Katlego Otladisa has been signed but will be loaned to Dikwena for another season.
