Stars eye City striker after Mthembu snub

The coastal side yesterday confirmed the surprise capture of Mthembu, who initially appeared to have extended his stay with Free State Stars in the off-season.

According to a source close to City, Stars have now set their sights on recruiting Moseamedi.

"Moseamedi has engaged the club with the possibility of leaving," says the informant.

"There are two teams interested, including Free State Stars."

Moseamedi impressed in the first year of City's existence, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 33 appearances when Eric Tinkler steered the side in 2016/17.

However, last season he only netted once in 14 outings under coach Benni McCarthy.
