Ramagalela was recently suspended by Polokwane City for allegedly refusing to pen a new contract with the Limpopo-based side.
Besides Highlands, SuperSport United have also shown interest in the former Mamelodi Sundowns striker, who shared the PSL Golden Boot with Percy Tau last term with 11 goals apiece.
"About Ramagalela, we heard he's suspended at his club," said the Lions of the North coach.
"We would like to have him at the club. I don't think we can get him now, but hopefully at the end of the season we can try to get him."
SuperSport winger Phala is seemingly out of the plans of coach Kaitano Tembo, with his contract at the club set to expire in June.
Regarding Phala, Da Gama said: "We had Thuso Phala in mind, but we need to be strategic on how we bring him in the club.
"Anything can happen in football."
Da Gama previously stated his club had rejected a local R10-million bid for their top scorer Mvala, insisting they will only consider bids from overseas.
"The management want to make sure we are stabilised, so they requested not to sell any player," Da Gama explained further.
"The situation of Mvala, we may sell him at the end of the season. Not now because the club wants to stabilise their position in the Absa Premiership."
Meanwhile, Da Gama confirmed former Kaizer Chiefs winger Mandla Masango is still under assessment with his ninth-placed team.
