Sikhakhane, who has been loaned to AmaZulu for the second season running, was signed by Pirates from Golden Arrows prior to 2016/17 but it never worked out for him in his sole campaign at Mayfair.

Dube, Maela and Lorch also spent time on loan to Bloemfontein Celtic, Thanda Royal Zulu and Chippa United respectively before getting their chance at the Buccaneers.

"Of course it does motivate me but at the same time my mind right now is at AmaZulu," Sikhakhane said.

"I'm not there at Pirates and it is one thing I don't have to focus on because it may happen and it may not that I go back to Pirates .

"Of course that is in their hands because they're still my bosses," he said regarding his future.

"I'm contracted to them and I'll hear from them, and then after that we'll talk over what is the next step for my career."

Lorch, who was outstanding last term before sustaining an injury against Usuthu in April, was recalled by Pirates in the second half of 2016/17 from the Chilli Boys.

Dube, who spent two seasons on loan to Siwelele and also had stints at Royal Eagles and Roses FC, played all the league matches for the Free State club in 2016/17. He was recalled at the beginning of last season and is now a trusted figure at right-back for the Soweto giants.

Maela, who took ownership of the left-back position when he returned to the Sea Robbers at the beginning of last season, was previously on loan to the now defunct AmaBhubesi. He captained the side to National First Division honours under the tutelage of coach Roger Sikhakhane.

Lorch was signed by Pirates from Maluti FET in 2015 and spent a season on loan to Cape Town All Stars and another one at Chippa. However, Pirates later recalled him and he has shot to prominence with electric performances on the flanks and also in the number 10 position.
