Chippa players Samuel Julies and Sandile Zuke look set to make a move to the Urban Warriors, while Ajax players Bantu Mzwakali and Prince Nxumalo will move in the other direction.
Both Nxumalo and Mzwakali were absent when the Urban Warriors took on Maritzburg United in Cape Town on Friday night. Ajax were beaten 2-1, a defeat which sinks them deeper into the relegation quagmire.
Nxumalo has been unsettled in Cape Town in recent times and is unlikely to get regular game time, especially with the arrival of former Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro. A new environment could see him rediscovering his best form.
Mzwakali, meanwhile, has not been able to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up, despite being one of the club’s most creative players. He has previously been linked with a move to Gauteng, but nothing materialised.
"Both clubs are talking regarding the swap deal,” a source told KickOff.com.
"If everything goes well the deal could be concluded on Monday,” he added.
Chippa are reported to be chasing the signature of striker Edward Manqele from Free State Stars. However Stars coach, Luc Eymael, has since lashed out at the Chilli Boys who are said to have made contact with the former Kaizer Chiefs man.
