Chippa: We can't let Roger sit at home

Sikhakhane's last coaching job was at National First Division side Richards Bay FC earlier this season. He parted ways with the club in November and has been jobless since then.

Sikhakhane has been appointed as a technical director and will also assist head coach Teboho Moloi. It seems no matter how many times Sikhakhane parts ways with Chippa, he always ends up going back to the work for the club.

“The thing is sometimes people get emotional and it’s the name of the game,” Mpengesi tells

“Roger is a very good coach and Chippa is his home. It is well documented that we had our ups and downs with him, but one thing for sure is that sometimes people make mistakes and then you forgive each other.

“But our relationship didn't end. He makes mistakes sometimes when things are not going well and makes comments in public. But one thing we cannot take away from him is that he understands the culture of the club and he's part of the history of the club. So we could not watch Roger sitting at home.”

Mpengesi is confident Moloi and Sikhakhane will work well together.

“Teboho is guy with the very good attitude. He's Christian and he believes in the spirit of forgiveness. So i believe we are strengthening the team and also, because we have a goal, many hands are better than one.

''So we sat down with Roger and ironed things out.”

Meanwhile, Mpengesi has also confirmed that the club has parted ways with midfielder Tshwarelo Bereng. The player has been handed his clearance.
