Comitis standing firm with Manyama

Comitis is working on an overseas move for Manyama, who has been linked with clubs in America and in Turkey.

African champions Mamelodi Sundowns are also trying to lure Manyama to Chloorkop, but Comitis has repeatedly stressed he will not sell the 26-year-old to a local rival.

“Clubs are very interested in Manyama’s services,” Comitis tells KickOff.com.

“You can’t only work on one deal, you know. I’ve said it before that Manyama’s future is abroad but I won’t be bullied into selling Manyama just to any club.”

City coach Benni McCarthy dropped Manyama for the club's 1-0 win over Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 semi-finals on Sunday, saying the attacker's mind was elsewhere.

Comitis defended McCarthy's decision to discipline the Citizens skipper.

“Look, Benni is protecting his player and the squad by teaching him a lesson. At the end of the day it will be in his best interests.”
