Celtic retain Ndengane cover

Transfer News

Despite Phunya Sele Sele's financial future still up in the air, the club have moved to tie down Tshepo Rikhotso on a four-year contract extension.

The club earlier confirmed they had parted ways with Ndengane by mutual consent amid interest in the player from Absa Premiership log leaders Orlando Pirates.

However, they are reluctant to lose further personnel and have pinned their hopes on keeping hold of their 25-year-old right-back until 2023.

“He [Rikhotso] was nurtured and introduced to professional football by Celtic and we were happy when he, through his manager, committed to the team until 2023," said Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco.

"In football you lose some but we must always try to keep the core of the team intact.”
