Tade unswayed by Sundowns talk

Transfer News

Tade has attracted interest from Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns with six goals and two assists so far in his first season in the South African topflight.

However, the Argentine striker remains focused on delivering the goods in Durban, according to Vilakazi.

"We focus on AmaZulu as our employers, Tade knows that too," Vilakazi said.

"He's 100 percent focused and it hasn't done any damage in the dressing room. It won't affect us because we know he's still with us, physically and emotionally."

Usuthu next host Highlands Park in the last-32 of the Nedbank Cup at King Zwelithini Stadium tonight (20h00).

Vilakazi won the tournament with Free State Stars last term, and he hopes to do the same with Cavin Johnson's side.

"Last season with my former team, what helped us, winning at least one tournament was part of our main target. It was the result of hard work from everyone in that team."

He added: "The club really deserves something this season. We are hoping that luck will be on our side. We are not going to this tournament to add numbers. We want to win to put a smile on the faces of our supporters."

Vilakazi has appealed to his club's fans to make their presence felt in Umlazi this evening.

"We urge Usuthu to unite and come in their numbers to fill King Zwelithini. We want to make sure we win this match for them."
