Usuthu recruited 24-year-old defender Nzambe from AS Mangasport after he passed a week-long trial in Durban, while Mbatha was previously at fellow NFD side Jomo Cosmos.
Both players have penned three-year contracts with Joey Antipas's side.
“Stevy is a player who comes with huge pedigree, we’re excited to have him on board. He’s a leader with a lot of experience having been captain of the Gabon national team,” AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela told the club's website.
Coach Antipas added of Mbatha: “He’s an exciting talent, and a good ball player with vision. He’s an attacking player that can link up play well from the midfield.”
