Konqobe, who had a previous loan spell with Usuthu terminated last year for breaching club rules, has penned a three-year contract with the Durban-based outfit - silencing speculation linking the ex-South Africa U-20 international with a move to Orlando Pirates.
Usuthu general manager Lunga Sokhela confirmed the capture of Konqobe and revealed they are also in talks with Richards Bay striker Mhlengi Cele.
"Konqobe has signed a three-year deal," says Sokhela.
"We are still talking regarding Mhlengi," he adds of the ex-Chippa United forward, who hit 19 goals for Thanda Royal Zulu last term.
Konqobe revived his career at Thanda in 2016/17 after being released by Ajax Cape Town, featuring in 29 of the promoted club's 30 league games.
AmaZulu recently bought the topflight status of Amabhubesi, prompting the formation of NFD outfit Richards Bay.
Usuthu have also recruited Sadat Ouro-Akoriko, Sduduzo Dlamini, Jabulani Ncobeni, Siyabonga Mbatha and Siyethemba Mnguni ahead of their return to the Premiership after a two-year absence.
