The Urban Warriors announced on Thursday that they had agreed terms with the Zambian international, who will officially join the Cape club in January.
Spotted by Ajax scout Luis de Faria in Zambia, the midfielder had been on trial before impressing enough to earn a move, having enjoyed himself outside his native country thus far.
“Luis saw me and recommend me to come here and now I find myself here in Cape Town at Ajax,” he told his new club’s website.
“It has been really fantastic, the guys are friendly and I am feeling good. I have only been here for little over a week, so it is quite interesting and I hope we will build on our relationships when I come back [following Christmas].”
The 24-year-old, who was part of Zanaco’s league winning team last season, is a left-footed playmaker who compares himself to former PSL star Noah Chivuta, yet has urged fans to come see him for themselves next season.
“I am excited yes, this will be my first international club,” he continued. “I am really excited and I thank God for it. I wouldn’t say much about myself right now, come and watch for yourself next year.”
Kabwe will hope to feature in Ajax’s first game of 2017, a tough away fixture at Bidvest Wits on 7 February.
