Mugeyi backs Ndulula for Bafana

The former Orlando Pirates striker was on target as Usuthu were beaten 2-1 by Kaizer Chiefs in Durban last night.

Ndulula partnered Zambian striker Bornwell Mwape during the match against Amakhosi and Mugeyi is happy with what he has seen from the partnership.

"He [Ndulula] was fantastic. He fought for every ball, he held the ball for the team and let the team get into the game," said Mugeyi on Wednesday night.

"I think it is no surprise that Ndulula is our number one striker for Bafana Bafana and he proved it tonight. Bornwell was also fantastic, he worked his socks off and they both did very well."

Meanwhile, Mugeyi says his team will now need to create their own luck to win games.

Usuthu were close to securing their first victory in the League this season against Chiefs until the 60th minute when they allowed Amakhosi to equalise, and later they got the winner in injury-time.

Mugeyi says luck has deserted his team this season.

"If you look at most of the games, we have been playing like this, but I think it is only luck that is lacking. We need to create our own luck now and keep fighting," added Mugeyi.

The 'Silver Fox' is hoping things will turn around and feels one victory will open the floodgates for more luck to come their way.

"If we were in bad form I would be worried but the team is playing well. If we can get one win just to boost the confidence of the players I think we will be at a turning point but as I said  before, we will keep fighting. It will come right," he concluded.
