Why De Reuck was sold to Downs now

Maritzburg United lost another top player in Rushine De Reuck and the reason for him leaving in this transfer window has been revealed.

The Team of Choice have always been clear on player movements and never stand in the way of anyone who wants to grow and try new challenges.

All of Evans Rusike, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Fortune Makaringe, Lebohang Maboe and Richard Ofori have moved on in the past.

According to sources inside the club, De Reuck was actually supposed to leave at the end of the season but due to high demand from Mamelodi Sundowns they had to let him leave now.

"The club was planning to release De Reuck at the end of the season, that was a deal between the player and chairman, but Mamelodi Sundowns needed a new defender," a source tells KickOff.com.

"Also after the Bafana Bafana camp De Reuck was not the same. He was more hungry for growth and the club decided to allow him to achieve that dream."

"We are all together. It was a decision done by the club and I think De Reuck is happy where he is now. We have to find a solution in our squad.
