Thanda Royal Zulu open trials

Premiership

Thanda will be hosting trials at Mhlathuze Sports Ground in Richards Bays in the Zululand Region in KwaZulu-Natal in an attempt to strengthen their squad for the 2014/2015 season.

Players are requested to bring their own playing kit and also identity documents (birth certificates and ID documents). They are also asked to bring their own food/refreshments.

In the past three years, Thanda have featured twice in the PSL Promotion Play-offs and have on both occasions failed to win a place in the PSL. They have in the process lost valuable players like goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo to Kaizer Chiefs, striker Nkosinathi Mthiyane to AmaZulu and they have recently lost striker Andile Fikizolo to SuperSport United.

Last season they had one of their worst seasons as at one stage they looked set to lose their NFD spot as they were fighting relegation.

Fikizolo made his name with a first-half brace against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 match. Thanda also lost top coaches like Neil Tovey and Mlungisi Ngubane as well as football administrator Peter Koutroulis (who has since joined Chippa United).

University of Pretoria will also host open trials in Pretoria this weekend. READ: Tuks open player trials
