SuperSport set SAFA, Baxter deadline

Premiership

United last month granted SAFA permission to speak to Baxter with a view to offer him the Bafana Bafana head coaching position.

Bafana are currently without a coach after Ephraem Mashaba was sacked at the end of December last year.

Mashaba, though, has since taken SAFA to CCMA for unfair dismissal and is seeking to be reinstated to the hotseat.

Matsatsantsa spokesperson David Skhosane has confirmed that SAFA and Baxter have until the end of today (Wednesday) to finalise their negotiations.

"The situation has not changed," Skhosane tells KickOff.com.

"The club has given them time until today to finalise the issue."

Baxter is set to return back to the SuperSport bench for their league clash against Bloemfontein Celtic tonight, after being granted sick leave recently.
