Mbebe, 22, joined Matsatsantsa in the recent transfer window and is believed to have signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club.
The former Royal Eagles attacker made his first United appearance, as a substitute, under coach Kaitano Tembo in a quarter-final of the Multichoice Diski Challenge last weekend, in which SuperSport advanced as 2-0 victors over Platinum Stars.
Igesund believes Mbebe has what it takes to become the next big thing for his side, and says fans will get to see the midfielder in action “very soon”.
“I think he’s going to take this league by storm,” said the former Bafana Bafana coach during a press conference to unveil his latest signings.
“He’s a very exciting player, who [the fans] will very, very shortly get to see,” he added.
United’s first fixture, following the lengthy Afcon break, will see them face Free State Stars at home on February 11.
Mbebe may well get his first team debut either against the relegation-threatened side, or against Mpumalanga Black Aces next weekend.
If not, SuperSport's reserves will face University of Pretoria in the semi-finals of the Diski Challenge on 15 February in Port Elizabeth.
