Safa released a statement on Wednesday saying Shakes Mashaba's replacement would be named within 48 hours.
Baxter, who has been linked with a return to the national team hotseat, was reluctant to comment on the matter, only going as far as to say he is happy at Matsatsantsa.
“I am not going to fuel that speculation even more because you just told me my players get affected [by the Bafana job speculation]. So definitely I am not going to fuel that and you have to accept that,” said Baxter.
“I don’t want to fuel that speculation. Whatever happens happens. I have got a contract with SuperSport United, I am happy with SuperSport.
“Until anything else happens I am sure you guys you will know before me,” added the Briton, whose side were held to a goalless draw by struggling Bloemfontein Celtic at Lucas Moripe Stadium last night.
