Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jabulani Mendu has advised the Soweto giants to swallow their pride and acquire George Maluleka and Sibusiso Vilakazi.
Both Maluleka and Vilakazi are about to become free agents, and Mendu believes they are capable of bringing back to life sleeping giants like Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
News broke on Wednesday that Maluleka and Sundowns have agreed to part ways.
"The reason Sundowns are releasing George it's because they want to open up a space for Bongani Zungu," Mendu tells KickOff.
"But I still feel any team, especially a team like Pirates if they can get George...Even if Chiefs can swallow their pride and get George back, I mean any team in the PSL that will be able to sign George would have grabbed themselves one of the best midfielders in South Africa.
"Someone who's going to make them play, someone who is confident on the ball, someone who can pass the ball. George, he's a complete player.
"Let's not take decisions based on emotions.
"Vilakazi as well, Chiefs or Pirates should get them, they gonna get them on a bargain.
"Vilakazi is smart, he can play behind a striker, can play as a striker, can play as a winger, he's a smart attacking midfielder and listen...he's not playing regularly at Sundowns but every time he gets an opportunity to play, he scores.
"You need such players at Chiefs and Pirates.
"If I was Arthur Zwane right now I would be on my knees begging Chiefs to get me Vilakazi and Maluleka."
