Sekhukhune snap up hotshot striker

Premiership

High-flying Sekhukhune FC have completed the signing of striker Sonwabile Mfecane from Cape Town Spurs.

The Mfuleni-born striker spent some time with Ajax Amsterdam in 2017 after being invited by former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars, who is the director of football at the Dutch giants.

While still with Ajax Cape Town, Mfecane played a huge role in the Urban Warriors' aspirations for promotion last season only for them to lose momentum during the bio-bubble as Swallows FC took their place in the top-flight.

According to a highly placed source at Sekhukhune, the 21-year-old has already signed on the dotted line and is expected to be unveiled soon.

"It's a done deal. The boy has already started training with the club. He is looking very good at training," the source tells KickOff.com.

Sekhukhune, who are top of the GladAfrica Championship table, are also expected to sign former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Chris Matombo, who is currently training with the squad.
