TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has revealed that Ethan Brooks is not guaranteed a spot in the team after the Bafana Bafana midfielder was hooked before the half-time whistle against Mamelodi Sundowns.
TS Galaxy were unable to climb out of the DStv Premiership relegation play-off zone on Wednesday evening after suffering a 3-0 defeat to reigning champions and current league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Rockets' disappointing performance was compounded by an early red card for Lindokuhle Mbatha while a number of other players failed to perform on the night, including star midfielder Ethan Brooks.
Brooks, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Tuesday, was substituted off in the 36th-minute as Galaxy sought to limit the damage caused by Mbatha's red card, with his exit from the game coming as the latest in a string of sub-par outings.
"He is a young player and he made, of course, some big mistakes," Ramovic told the media after the match. "He has a lot of quality but he should improve every day because he is young and he must also show that he deserves to play for the national team.
"He has to show every time in training and in the games if he wants to have a great career, and he can have it, if he stays calm, improves himself every day, then there is a big chance that he can become a good player.
"We have a good squad now and he has to fight for his place like every other player. He doesn't have a free ticket..."
