Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena is setting out to yet another continental assignment this weekend as the influence of his profile continues to grow.
Mokwena has been invited by the Ugandan club Kampala Capital City Authority to provide technical input while sharing his knowledge straight after enjoying another fruitful season with Sundowns.
He will be in East Africa from June 17-22 with veteran Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Onyango having played a key role in facilitating this visit.
"Mamelodi Sundowns Co-Head Coach Rulani Mokwena will pay a courtesy visit to KCCA FC for one week.
"The South African professional football manager will be in Uganda from 17th – 22nd June 2022.
"The former Orlando Pirates and Chippa United Coach is coming purposely for knowledge sharing with the technical team of KCCA FC.
"Rulani has been invited by the KCCA FC management and this is in line with the Club's Five Years Strategic Plan under the Key Result area 5 which is Strategic Partnerships and Alliances.
"Ex Uganda Cranes skipper Denis Onyango who is also a player at Mamelodi Sundowns FC has been a key factor in ensuring Rulani's visit to KCCA FC comes to life.
"The objectives of the visit are to leverage new existing collaborations, create a competitive advantage for the club and broaden the club's capabilities.
"In March 2017, when Mamelodi Sundowns played KCCA FC in the first round of the CAF Champions League at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Rulani was an assistant coach to Head Coach Pitso Mosimane.
"The Masandawana Gaffer recently guided the club to their 12th Premier Soccer League title confirming their status as the most successful side in the South African Premier Soccer League era," reads a statement from the Uganda club.
