The future of Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena at the Mighty Buccaneers still remains uncertain.

Mokwena was given leave by Pirates after Christmas and is yet to return to work.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach was last seen in the Bucs dressing room after the league game against Black Leopards at Orlando Stadium on 21 December.

He has now spent a month away from Pirates training and was recently reported to be overseas on an educational tour.

According to a source close to both Pirates and Mokwena, the man who earned himself nicknames like 'Picasso' and 'Mona Lisa' after an eventful spell in the hotseat is at least close to home.

"Rhulani is back in the country after being away but has not yet returned to work," the source tells KickOff.com.

Pirates are yet to lose a match since Mokwena was granted leave by the club in December last year, with new coach Josef Zinnbauer starting his tenure on the front foot.
